The Tacitus Cortex
A physical appliance installed in your server room. 100% air-gapped. No network connection to the outside world. Your data never leaves your premises, ever.
Why Physical Sovereignty Matters
Cloud providers can be compelled to hand over your data. With the Cortex, there's nothing to hand over—your data exists only on hardware you physically control.
True Air-Gap
No network cable connects the Cortex to the internet. Data transfer happens via encrypted USB drives using our "Supply Drop" protocol.
Your Jurisdiction
The Cortex sits in your server room, under your roof, governed by your country's laws. No foreign court can compel access.
Tamper Detection
TPM 2.0 modules ensure secure boot and hardware-based key storage for cryptographic operations.
Hardware Configurations
Four tiers designed for different scales of operation. All units include TPM 2.0 and RAID storage.
Tacitus Solo
The entry point to physical sovereignty. Ideal for solo practitioners who need AI document intelligence without cloud exposure.
Tacitus Cortex
The flagship configuration. Dual GPUs for parallel processing, ideal for firms with multiple active matters.
Tacitus Quad
Four-GPU configuration for engineering firms and organizations with massive document corpuses.
Tacitus Pro
Professional-grade workstation GPUs for government, finance, and VIP clients requiring maximum performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do software updates work without an internet connection?
We use our "Supply Drop" protocol. Updates are delivered on encrypted USB drives, verified against cryptographic signatures before installation. Your IT team or our partner handles the physical transfer.
What happens if the hardware fails?
All storage is RAID-mirrored, so a single drive failure doesn't cause data loss. For hardware replacement, we dispatch a pre-configured replacement unit. Your data remains on-site throughout the process.
Can I migrate from Cloud Bridge to Cortex?
Yes, this is called "Graduation." Your document corpus, vectors, and metadata are exported from the Cloud Bridge and imported to the Cortex. The software is identical—only the deployment changes.
What's included in the monthly fee after Year 1?
The loyalty rate covers ongoing support, software updates (via Supply Drop), and remote diagnostics assistance. Hardware warranty and replacement parts are included.
What happens when I terminate the contract?
After Year 1, you can terminate with 1-month notice. The hardware is returned to us for certified data sanitization, and your security deposit is refunded in full. You retain ownership of your exported data. Alternatively, you may choose to keep the hard drives for your own secure disposal or retention—we'll simply adjust the final settlement accordingly.
